Boiler Cover FAQs

If I take out a Cover Plan today, when will my first Boiler Service or Landlords Gas Safety Check be carried out ?

As long as you or your tenants have availability, we will carry these out with in 30 days of you signing up and every 12 months thereafter.

How long does it take for an engineer to attend if I request a call-out ?

90% of call-outs are attended within 4 hours all call-outs are attended within 24 hours.

Can I upgrade my cover to include Drainage, Plumbing or Electrics ?

Yes, you can do this at any time. Simply pick up the phone and we will be happy to help you with any changes that you would like to make.

What happens if my boiler is un-economical to repair and it’s less than 5 years old ?

As long as your boiler has been properly installed and maintained in accordance with the manufacturers instructions and it has been serviced every year, we will provide a suitable replacement Free Of Charge.

My boiler is over 5 years old but less than 10 years old ?

If your boiler has been properly installed and maintained we will discount a replacement boiler by £300.

Boiler FAQs

Why do I need a site survey ?

A site survey is critical to ensure that everything has been covered prior to providing you with a firm quotation. We are aware that one of our competitors doesn’t do this but invariably they will find additional work on the day of installation that hasn’t been costed in to your online quotation.

Is my online quote set in stone ?

If you choose the Online Survey, then yes it is! If you are unsure about this, then a Home Survey is always an option.

Is the survey engineer a salesman ?

Absolutely not ! our engineers are paid to carry out site surveys and install boilers. They are not paid to drink your tea and pressure you into a purchase. Once they have all the information required they will e.mail or phone it through to our main office. We will then compile a firm quotation and provide it to you. The ball is then in your court for you to decide whether or not to go ahead with a new boiler installation.

How long does a boiler installation take ?

This depends on your installation. If we are doing a like for like boiler swap, the work will be completed in one day. If however you have requested an upgrade from a traditional system to a Combination Boiler the installation can occasionally run into the second day.

How soon can I have a survey and /or installation?

We are here for you. You tell us when you would like your survey and installation to take place.

How long are new boilers guaranteed for ?

This largely depends on the brand of boiler you choose. The market leaders can be guaranteed for up to 10 years.

Will you service my boiler annually ?

Boiler manufacturers insist that your boiler is serviced annually in order to preserve the boiler’s warranty. If you would like us to incorporate a service plan into your new boiler purchase, please let us know.

Finance FAQs

What are the minimum requirements to apply for finance ?

The minimum requirements to obtain finance in the UK are:

  • 18+ years of age
  • 3 years continuous UK address history
  • UK bank account

How can I increase my chances of being approved for finance ?

Whilst there is no guarantee your application is approved, fulfilling certain criteria can be helpful. For instance:

  • Be sure you meet the minimum requirements for finance. This includes being at least 18 years of age and having 3 years of continuous UK history
  • Be sure you can afford the payments that will be required for finance.
  • Know your credit history. An unpaid parking ticket can result in a default marker on your file and similarly if you have never had debt before, there is no record of your repayment history.

How old do I need to be to apply for finance?

You need to be at least 18 years of age to apply for finance.

What details do I need to provide when I apply for finance?

You will need to provide your name, address (past 3 years), phone number, bank details and a personal email address.

When I apply for finance, are you performing a soft check or a hard check? Will there be an inquiry on my credit report?

There will be a credit inquiry on your credit report, which means there will be an entry on your credit report that indicates you applied for credit. This is also known as a “hard check”.

I am a student. Can I apply for finance?

Yes, as a student you can apply, however, you need to be working a minimum of 16 hours per week.
